Fort Leavenworth Bldg. 95 and 701 Fire Alarm

Fort Leavenworth is the second oldest active Army installation and the oldest permanent settlement in Kansas. The Fire Station, Building 95, is part of the National Landmark Historic District. All repairs were made in accordance with the Secretary of the Interior's preservation standards, with care taken to avoid damage to the existing historical fabric.

The building was occupied during construction. The existing fire alarm system, including all related conduit, wiring, devices, boxes, antennas, panels, components, and smoke detectors, was replaced with a new fire alarm system featuring a mass notification system. All supplied devices are addressable and include all equipment necessary for a complete and functional system, reporting directly to the Ft. Leavenworth emergency dispatch center system over the NIPRNet network via a TL300 network interface module. Network cabling was provided from the panel to the communication room and over the wireless radio subscriber and full data module. An engineering and FPE stamp was provided on all designs. Flush control panels were mounted, and a documentation cabinet was installed. The fire alarm wiring was run through ¾" EMT conduit, which was concealed, and wire mold was used in finished spaces. Horn strobes were mounted on the ceiling according to code. All repairs or patches in the walls, ceilings, or floors were completed to match the surrounding surfaces and finishes.
